The issue of gun violence has been dominating U.S. political debate in the wake of mass shootings last weekend in Texas and Ohio. While members of Congress are on their August recess, Democratic presidential candidates are calling for action and Republican President Donald Trump is promising more rigorous screening of gun buyers.
